Recently, our company successfully completed the production of a batch of marine soft-seal butterfly valves conforming to Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) 16K pressure rating, based on customer requirements.
These JIS 16K butterfly valves, pressure rating corresponding to a nominal PN25, are key high-pressure components in marine piping systems.
To ensure long-term stable operation at 2.5MPa and higher pressures, this batch of butterfly valves features a comprehensively reinforced structure: a thicker and more robust valve body design, an increased valve stem diameter, and significantly improved overall rigidity, effectively preventing deformation and failure under high pressure. For sealing, high-performance EPDM rubber is used as the valve seat material. This material not only possesses excellent elasticity and pressure resistance but also achieves bidirectional zero-leakage sealing under high pressure conditions, ensuring the sealing safety of the system in various media such as seawater, fresh water, and compressed air.
This butterfly valve performs exceptionally well and can be widely used in below application:
- High-pressure seawater/freshwater environments, such as main engine cylinder liner water cooling systems;
- Low-pressure steam and condensate circuits;
- Compressed air systems such as starting air and control air;
- Fuel oil and lubricating oil supply systems;
- Marine high-pressure fire-fighting water systems.
